DMK inks pact with Cong, to contest 11 seats in Pondy
Chennai, Apr 9 (UNI) The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) today inked the seat-sharing agreement with the Congress for the ensuing Assembly polls in the Union Territory of Pondicherry.
Under the agreement, the DMK would contest 11 seats in the Union Territory.
The agreement was signed between PCC President P Shanmugam and DMK Pondicherry Convenor R V Janakiraman in the presence of DMK President M Karunanidhi and AICC General Secretary V Narayanasami at the DMK Headquarters 'Anna Arivalayam here,' DMK sources told UNI.
Being the major player in Pondicherry, the Congress would finalise the seat sharing agreement with other parties for the remaining 19 seats.
The Pondicherry Assembly has a strength of 30.
