Dental insurance mooted
Hyderabad, Apr 9 (UNI)The Dental Council of India (DCI) is making efforts to introduce Dental Insurance throughout the country and for reciprocal recognition of dental degrees between India, Sri Lanka and Singapore.
Interacting with media here, DCI President and Padma Bhushan Dr Anil Kohli said dental insurance would be a reality very soon in Maharashtra with a nominal payment of Rs 500 to Rs 2000 per annum for a coverage of minimum of Rs 50,000 and above.
He said the scheme would be launched with the help of New India Insurance. The DCI is then planning to spread the scheme throughout the country, he added.
Referring to reciprocal recognition of PG degrees, Dr Kohli said he would be visiting Singapore to attend a meeting pertaining to reciprocal recognition of PG courses between India, Sri Lanka and Singapore. ''Already five to 10 dental school managements are showing interest to set up their institutions here,'' he added.
