Another bloody clash over land leaves three injured
Kharar, Apr 9 (UNI) At least three persons were injured, one of them seriously in a clash between two rival groups over a piece of land at Chapparchiri village here this afternoon.
Police sources said seriously injured Gurpreet Singh, a resident of Kajheri in Chandigarh, sustained fire shots on his thigh was shifted to PGI, Chandigarh, while the two others were taken to the nearby hospital.
Police revealed that to claim possession of nearly 1.5 bigha of prime land, the rivals openly used firearms, swords, iron rods and other deadly weapons.
Both the groups had managed to escape before Kharar SHO reached the spot on getting the information, said the sources, while confirming that three used cartridges, a water tanker and a sand-filled tractor trolley found from the spot were impounded before launching a manhunt to nab the accused.
Police sources added that a case would be registered in this connection after recording the statement of the victims.
Yesterday, two persons were seriously injured after two rival groups, one of them led by a retired Superintendent of Police (SP), had clashed over nearly 20 acres of prime land at Shekhpura village here.
