Abu Salem slaps legal notice on film producer Mahesh Bhatt

Mumbai, Apr 8 (UNI) Extradited underworld don Abu Salem has slapped a legal notice on film producer Mahesh Bhatt for making a film 'Gangster' which the former believes is based on his life.

The notice was sent to Bhatt yesterday and has been given 24 hour ultimatum to reply or face legal consequences.

Salem's advocate Ashok Sarogi said here today that the notice has been sent to Bhatt stating since cases against Salem are under investigation, releasing a film may hamper the course of inquiry and also damage his image.

Mr Sarogi said if reply to the notice was not received within the stipulated time, then appropriate legal action against Bhatt would be initiated.

The notice has also asked the producer to hold the release of film till the verdict of the cases are out.

The film is slated for release next week.

However, Bhatt was not available for comments.
