280 MW Dhauliganga power station decicated to nation
New Delhi, Apr 8 (UNI) The 280 MW Dhauliganga power station at Dharchula, the first major project in the Kumaon region of Uttaranchal, was today dedicated to the nation by Power Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde.
State Chief Minister N D Tiwari was present on the occasion.
As many as 1,134 million units of power will be generated annually from the power station, constructed by NTPC on river Dhauliganga, a tributary of river Kali in Pithoragarh district.
Power generated from the project will be supplied to Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi, an NTPC release said here.
