Rathore finishes 8th in double trap event at World Cup in China

New Delhi, Apr 7 (UNI) Olympic silver medallist Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore failed to make it to the finals and finished a disappointing eighth in the Double Trap event at the World Cup in Quingyuan, China, today.

Rathore, who won a gold in this event in the recently concluded Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, shot 136 with a series of 44, 46, 46 and missed the finals by a point, according to information received here.

Other Indians did not fare well with Ronjan Sodhi finishing 20th with a shot of 128 (44, 42, 42) while Vikram Bhatnagar ended at 36th with 117 (41, 40, 36).

Vitaly Fokeev of Russia won the gold with a score of 191 (143+48), while Hakan Dahlby (137+49) of Sweden and Binyuan Hu (138+45) of China won the silver and bronze respectively.
