Guj Governor, CM pay homage to Ramachandra Upadhyaya

Surat, Apr 7 (UNI) Gujarat Governor Naval Kishore Sharma and Chief Minister Narendra Modi today paid homage to veteran freedom fighter Ramachandra Dinakar Upadhyaya, an official release said.

Upadhyaya died due to old age at his residence here yesterday.

He took active part in the freedom movement and was imprisoned in 1942 during the Quit India movement.

A staunch Gandhian leader, he was a close associate of Mahathma Gandhi, Vinobh Bhave and Jugat Dham Dave.
