Vadodara, Apr 5 (UNI) A twentytwo-year-old man was arrested for possessing 20 kg of ganja by the Railway police.
The youth, identified as Vicky Rajput, dressed in an army uniform was arrested yesterday while leaving the railway station to board a bus for Veraval in Junagadh district to deliver the contraband to one Nilesh Pal there.
When the accused failed to produce any documents to corroborate his claims of being an army personnel, police contacted authorities of Bhagalpur district to verify the claims.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that the was a resident of Bhagalpur in Bihar and had joined the Indian Army as a driver in January this year. He added he was carrying ganja from Ram Krishan Sharma for Nilesh.
Thorogh search of his baggage, led to the recovery of 20 kg woth of ganja. He was subsequently apprehended u/s 8(c), 20(b) and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
