Top six teams for Kerala Football League

Kozhikode, Apr 5 (UNI) Defending champions Kerala State Electricity Board, Thiruvananthapuram, will be among the top six teams vying for honours in the third Kerala State Football League 2006 beginning here from April 11.

The other teams participating in the 12-day event, sponsored by SAB Miller India Ltd, were runners up State Bank of Travancore, Central Excise, Cochin, Cochin Port Trust, Titanium and Viva Kerala, Kerala Football Association treasurer P Ashraf told reporters here.

Winners of the first, second and third prizes would get cash prizes of Rs 25,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively and the best player will get Rs 5,000, he said.

Kozhikode Mayor M Bhaskaran would inaugurate the opening match between KSEB and Central Excise, Cochin, he said.

Kozhikode District Football Association president P V Gangadharan, Hony Secretary AVM Ashraf, P N Sankaran of Procam International, the promoters of the game, were among those present.
