Gujarat HC stays cotton research centre land sale
Surat, Apr 5 (UNI) The Gujarat High Court has stayed till May 1, the sale of land belonging to the Navasari Agricultural University's cotton research wing.
Gujarat Keduk Vikas Parishad president Hasmukh Desai had earlier filed a public interest litigation praying that the court direct the Government not to sell the land upon which a cotton research centre has been functioning since 1896.
A High Court bench, comprising justices B J Seth and M C Patel, directed the University authorities not to initiate any sale process till May 1.
