Court of inquiry into firing incident at Azad's residence
Jammu, Apr 5 (UNI) CRPF Director General J K Sinha has ordered a court of inquiry into the firing incident at Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad's residence here on April three.
Mr Sinha was here to assess the situation following the incident in which a CRPF jawan opened fire, killing an inspector and two head constables on the spot.
Inspector General of Jammu range P M Nair told UNI today that the court of inquiry would cover all aspects of the circumstances and individual behaviour that could have led to the tragedy. The living conditions of CRPF personnel deployed in different parts of the state would also be examined.
Mr Nair said initial reports indicated that the constable was reprimanded by his senior officer for laxity in duty and allegedly threatened with cancellation of leave, following which he opened indiscriminate fire.
