Fever grips 209 villages in Maharashtra: Mundada
Beed, Maharashtra, Apr 2 (UNI) Maharashtra Health Minister Vimal Mundada today said that the state government is considering recruiting employees on temporary basis to control the ongoing fever outbreak which has now gripped 209 villages in the state so far.
Addressing a news conference here after visiting five fever affected villagers, Dr Mundada said about 30,000 people were affected by the fever in the state and the health department has been making all-round efforts to control the outbreak.
Some 30 villages in Beed district were affected by the fever, where most of the patients had been suffering from either chicken guniya or dengue, official sources said.
Dr Mundada, who represents Kaij assembly constituency of the Beed district in the state legislative assembly, was touring the fever- affected areas in her home district after visiting the affected areas of neighbouring Aurangabad and Parbhani districts in Marathwada. She later left for Osmanabad today.
Dr Mundada informed that the health authorities have taken all precautionary steps to prevent further spread of the fever and to control its outbreak.
