Shiksha urges assistance to children education
Hyderabad, Apr 1 (UNI) As Shiksha, Children's Education Campaign entered its second year, noted actors Siddhartha, Jhansi, Anusha, and Namrata Shirodkar today urged the people to ensure an increase in number of educated children.
Talking to newspersons here Sachin Gopal, Director, P&G India said the company had committed a minimum of Rs one crore to Shiksha, which will be allocated to education-focused projects.
Mr Gopal said Shiksha was urging the consumers to assist them in educating the underprivileged children.
Regina Thomas, Regional Director (South), CRY said, ''Children pay the penalty for our failures as a nation and a society.
Rajendhira Prasad, Executive Director, Maa TV said children are our future. Millions of children are unable to get access to education, he added.
Shiksha is being supported by renowned personalities from across the country, including actors Preity Zinta, Lara Dutta and Mandira Bedi.
