Sarna tribe celebrates Sarhul festival
Ranchi, Apr 1 (UNI) The people of Sarna tribe today celebrated the religious festival of Sarhul by worshipping their deity Singbonga (God) and took out processions in different parts of Jharkhand.
In the capital town large number of people, including women and girls, participated in colourful processions from different neighbouring villages wearing traditional dresses and paraded through main streets while singing and dancing.
They also worshiped the Singbonga at Siramtoli Saranasthal here.
According to the Sarana belief, Sarhul is a celebration of the mating of the Singbonga and the creation, due to which the nature brings flowers. The flower is a symbol of new life.
