Bangalore, Apr 1 (UNI) As part of its efforts to curb entry of militants into Karnataka, the State Police is planning to make provision of personal details with documentary evidence compulsory for getting residential and hotel accomodation in the state.

Informing this to reporters here today, Director General of Police B S Sial said such a move was being contemplated following the recent arrest of a militant, belonging to the Lashkar-e-Toiba, in Gulbarga where he had rented a room three months ago to carryout his activities.

He said the department would also come up with an administrative order or a law, if there was no legal device to make mandatory provision of personal details with documentary evidence like ration card, driving licence, voter identity card and pan card to landlords and hoteliers.

Mr Sial said strict vigil was being maintained at railway stations, bus stands and other sensitive areas in the wake of sudden rise in militant activities in the state.
