IAT renamed as Defence Institute of Advanced Technology

Pune, Apr 1 (UNI) The Institute of Armament Technology (IAT) here has been renamed as the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), a deemed university, with effect from today.

The director and additional director of the institute have also been redesignated as the vice-chancellor and pro vice-chancellor, respectively. A new emblem has also been designed for the premier institute.

Senior officials including Scientific Advisor to Defence Minister M Natrajan, Chief Controller Research and Development -DRDO Headquarters Dr W Selvamurthy and DIAT Vice Chancellor Prof P Ramachandra Rao were present on the occasion.
