Commonwealth gold medal winner Tejswini Sawant accorded warm welcome

Kolhapur, Apr 1 (UNI) Tejaswini Sawant, who won an individual gold medal in shooting and also in team event in the recently concluded Melbourne Commonwealth Games, was accorded a warm welcom on her arrival here today.

The city-based Sawant was received at the Ujalaiwadi aerodrome, located at city's outskirts, by prominent people among whom were Shahu Maharaj, Mayor Sai Kharade and various elected office bearers of the civic body, representatives of different social and sports organisations.

Large number of people from all walks of life had gathered at the aerodrome to have a glimpse of Tejaswini. On her arrival, a procession was taken out in the city from aerodrome.

Later, she was felicitated on behalf of Maharashtra government by District Collector Pravin Darade. Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC) Commissioner Kunal Kumar was also present on the occasion.
