Centre for strict monitoring of NREGS implementation
New Delhi, Apr 1 (UNI) Union Minister of Rural Development Raghuvansh Prasad Singh has directed the Area Officers of the Ministry to visit their respective districts to ascertain implementation of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme at the ground level.
He has directed the area officers to visit the worksite, personally experience the ground level implementation of the scheme and from the feedback received, submit report by April 25.
With a view to pursue the complaints received in the Ministry with respect to implementation of various rural development programmes, Dr Singh has directed that the complaints must be monitored vigorously. He has directed that complaints of serious nature must be referred to either national level monitors or to the State Governments for inquiry, necessary action and report.
With a view to vigorously pursue the complaint, he has directed that in case the State Governments do not send the report so asked or do not send action taken report on the report of NLM, then two fortnightly reminders must be sent from the level of Director and Joint Secretary of the Ministry and himself.
Even after the issuance of five reminders if the requisite report is not received, then the matter must be referred by the Monitoring Division of the Ministry to the concerned programme division for linking the same with the subsequent release of funds to the concerned DRDA.
This matter must find place in the "miscellaneous pending issues" category with the State Government to be included as additional agenda item to the review note, whenever any review meeting with the State officials is held.
The minister has directed strict compliance of these instructions.
