Wipro Infotech clinches Rs 360 cr deal with HDFC Bank

Bangalore, Mar 31 (UNI) Wipro Infotech, a leading provider of IT solutions and services, today announced that it had won a Rs 360 crore contract from HDFC bank for providing comprehensive IT outsourcing services to it over a period of ten years.

Wipro Infotech, the India, Middle East and Asia Pacific division of the 1.87 billion US Dollar Wipro Limited, had won its largest IT Outsourcing deal in the country by bagging the contract, a company release here said.

''HDFC Bank has always been at the forefront in adopting leading edge technologies and IT services for competitive advantage. Our total Outsourcing practice enables the bank to leverage on global best practices for Service delivery and technology deployment. Our focus and investments in the Total Outsourcing business has enabled us to win this contract of global size'' the release said, quoting Mr Suresh Vaswani, President, Global IT Service Lines, Wipro Infotech.

The scope of the deal included provisioning of IT infrastructure on build own operate basis for existing and new branches of HDFC Bank. Wipro would provide comprehensive Infrastructure management services for Data Center, networks and end-user equipment. The entire engagement would be managed under Wipro's Program Governance framework, which incorporated ITIL processes for Service Management and Six Sigma for continuous improvement.
