Three more arrested in AIIMS paper leak case, 18 lakh recovered
New Delhi, Mar 31 (UNI) With today's arrest of three more persons in the 2006 All India Post-Graduate Medical Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE) paper leak, conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), the total number of arrests made so far in the case has risen to seven.
Those arrested include the Head of Department (Commerce) of Madras Presidency College, Chennai, Prof Kattimuthu, according to the CBI.
The other two are -- Raghu, a clerk working with Asan Memorial School, Chennai and Senior Assistant of Pachyapas College, Chennai Manoharan.
Till now Rs 18 lakh have been recovered during the raids, it added.
Yesterday, the CBI had arrested four persons -- Ravi Kanan and N Bhaskar (Senior Residents of the prestigious Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Pondicherry, Vijay Kanan -- a second year student of MD (Anesthesia) in the same institute and P Satish Kumar -- a second year student of MD (Paediatric) at Madurai Medical College.
The CBI had raided 30 places across three states -- Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Delhi -- on March 29, in connection with the paper leak case of the 'AIPGMEE 2006', conducted by AIIMS Delhi.
