Sixth standard girl raped in Kangra
Kangra, Mar 31 (UNI) Police in Himachal Pradesh today said they had recovered the sixth standard girl who was kidnapped yesterday from the Kangra Bus Stand, saying the kidnapper was yet to be identified and arrested.
The girl was on her way to the bus stand after visiting her relative in Rehalpora on the outskirts of Kangra town when an unidentified man kidnapped her.
Police said she was recovered from Bharwala village of the distict this morning after the police raided a house in the district.
The preliminary medical examination of the girl had confirmed rape police said, adding an expert opinion was being sought from the Dr R.P. Government Medical College Hospital at Dharamshala.
He said the girl's body also bore marks of violence and said it seems that the accused was the same person who had recently attempted to rape a girl child during 'Ching Fair' at Matour.
Police said efforts were on to arrest the accused and its team raided the suspect's hideout at Parore, Palampur, Shahpur, Soura, Banoie, Chambi and at Rait to arrest the culprit, who was still absconding.
A police team headed by Kangra DSP V S Thakur had been constituted to arrest the accused, police added.
