New Delhi, Mar 31 (UNI) The Supreme Court today dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking ban of the screening of the movie 'Chingari' till the removal of ''objectionable dialogues and scenes'', which hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus.

A bench comprising Mrs Justice Ruma Pal and Mr Justice Dalveer Bhandari dismissed the petition after hearing the counsel for the petitioner, Sankalp Bharati Seva Sansthan.

The petitioner had alleged that the mythological character Draupadi has been compared to a prostitute in the movie and a religious head of the village has been portrayed as a don heading a gang of hardened criminals and indulging in all sorts of crimes like dacoity, murder and rape.

The petitioner had alleged that dialogues in the movie were full of Vulgarity and offended the cultural and religious sentiments of Hindus. Screening of the movie must be banned till such scenes and dialogues were removed.
