Quake in Iran kills about 50 - state radio
TEHRAN, Mar 31 (Reuters) A strong earthquake which hit Lorestan province in west Iran today killed about 50 people and injured some 800 others, state radio reported.
Lorestan Governor-General Mohammad Reza Mohseni-Sani, who gave the figures, said hospitals in the cities of Doroud and Boroujerd, the area where the quake hit, were full to capacity and could not receive further injured, the radio reported.
He called for assistance from surrounding areas.
