NHRC asks for report from J
New Delhi, Mar 31 (UNI) Expressing concern over reports that children who have been victims of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir were being sold in 'mandis' there, the National Human Rights Commission has asked for a factual report on it from the state government within two weeks.
Observing that the matter raised a serious issue of human rights, in particular the rights of children, the Commission has asked for a 'factual report', within two weeks, on it from the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary.
A television channel had recently carried a story on children, victims of terror in J&K, were being sold in regular 'mandis' (markets) which are being held in residential areas of Jammu.
