Kolkata boy to officiate at Wimbledon again

Kolkata, Mar 31 (UNI) Local boy and ITF White badge official Abhishek Mukherjee has been selected to officiate at the Wimbledon Tennis Championship 2006 for the second year in succession.

The championship will be held from June 19 to July 9 at the All England Tennis Club, London.

Last year, he had become the first official from East India to officiate at Wimbledon.

The selection is made by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) among all the certified officials of the world.

The criteria of selection depends on the overall performance throughout the year as a Chair Umpire.

Abhishek was also the Chief of Umpires at the Sunfeast Open, Kolkata, held in September 2005.
