Alwar, Mar 31 (UNI) Four witnesses were cross-examined in the Alwar rape case today involving a German research student and the son of an IPS officer in Orissa.

The German girl was allegedly raped by B H Mohanty, a MBA student at a hotel here over a week back. Mohanty was caught while fleeing by the Inter City Express the next day after the girl sent a message to her friend about the rape who in turn informed the German Embassy and police.

Medical jurists Dr Phool Singh Chaudhury and Dr Anila Gera were cross examined besides Rakesh, a waiter at the Ankur Hotel where the rape took place. The other waiter Mahendra was excused by the Public Prosecutor. The fourth witness was Mukesh, an STD booth owner.

The ADJ (Fast Track) court was also informed that the summons to the German girl's two friends Erina and Christopher did not reach them, hence they were not able to appear in the court.

The dates for their appearance are likely to be fixed tomorrow.

Four more witnesses are expected to give their evidences in the case tomorrow.

The German girl after completing her statements left for her home in Germany yesterday.

She complained of being pressurised by Mohanty's relatives to come to a compromise.
