Fire at heritage Statesman House in Kolkata

Kolkata, Mar 31 (UNI) A major fire broke out in the heritage building of the Statesman house in the heart of the city tonight.

Twenty fire tenders were pressed into service to contain the blaze, which is still raging.

Official sources said the fire initially broke out on the first floor of the building in the AC room. An electrical short circuit was believed to be the reason behind the blaze.

No casulaty had been reported so far.
