DMK to seek re-election from Palayamkottai, IUML indecisive
Chennai, Mar 31 (UNI) The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) today announced its candidate for Palayamkottai assembly constituency, which it had originally allotted to the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML).
A press release from party headquarters here said sitting MLA T P M Mohideen Khan would seek re-election from Palayamkottai, one of the three constituencies allotted to IUML.
When DMK President M Karunanidhi announced the list of candidates last evening, he said the IUML could not decide on a candidate for Palayamkottai as two people staked claim for it.
It was in this backdrop that the DMK announced its candidate.
The IUML wll be contesting from Arvakuruchi and Vaniyambadi.
