CITU suggests amendment in office of profit

Allahabad, Mar 31 (UNI) Centre of Indian Trade Union (CITU) today suggested amendment of the definition of ''offices of profit'' or a new law to redefine such an office.

CITU national secretary and MP Deepankar Mukherjee told the media here that the bill on 'offices of profit' was old and covered only offices of states and central governments.

He alleged that several MPs and legislators were holding offices of profit in private organisations. ''These private organisations should also be brought in the purview.'' UNI JL VS VD DB2119
