Chad army commander dies of wounds after clashes
N'DJAMENA, Mar 31 (Reuters) The commander of Chad's army has died of injuries suffered during clashes with rebels and Sudanese militia in the east of the country, government military sources today said.
General Abakar Youssouf Mahamat Itno, who is a nephew of President Idriss Deby, died following an attack by the rebels and the militia at Moudeina, said the sources, who asked not to be named.
