AIR, DD employees protest against demands not being met

Written by: Staff

New Delhi, Mar 31 (UNI) More than 500 employees of the All India Radio today held a 'gate meeting' at Akashwani Bhawan in New Delhi area to protest against their demands not being met despite their meeting with Joint Secretary (Broadcasting) recently.

The employees of the Technical and Engineering department besides holding the 'gate meeting' also wore 'black badges' as a mark of protest.

President of AIR and Doordarshan Technical Employees Association Kulbhushan Bhatia said 'gate meetings' were also held at zonal headquarters of all four zones.

If their demands were not met by April 6, employees would intensify their agitation and wear black badges on that day, he said.

Mr Bhatia added that they had presented their 4-charter demand to Joint Secretary (Broadcasting) but nothing had come out of it.
