Six promising designers to showcase creations in Liberty Gen show

Mumbai, Mar 29 (UNI) Six promising designers will showcase their creations during the Liberty Gen Next show, the first show on the hird day of the Lakme Fashion Week.

The Gennext designers are Bhawna Yadav, Deepti Toor, Leena Wadhwa, Rahul Mishra, Samar Firdoz and Swapnil Shinde.

Bhavan Yadav said, ''I would like to thank Liberty sponsoring the Gen Next category and making life a lot easier for us.'' ''I am privileged to be one of the participating designers in the 'LFW 2006' Liberty gennext show. Having been selected for this show is like a dream come true for any upcoming designer. I hope I can justify all the faith that Lakme and Liberty have invested in me,'' said Deepti Toor.

Rahul Mishra said, ''I hope I am going to be able to justify all the expectations that have been put on me and I look forward to the opportunity of displaying my collection on the global stage that LFW has given me.'' The themes are ''flamboyance of trucks'', ''the attempt to convert the comfort of sports wear to club wear'', ''the collection inspired by the architecture of Milan, which is extremely western'', ''a collection on the tourists of Kerela,'' the garments are made out of Khadi'', ''fusion of leather and silk, a collection which is woven out of leather and tussar silk,'' which is devoted to the people from Bagalpur and last but not the least is the theme ''abstraction'' which to be precise is called ''cubism.'' Selina Robson, international choreographer from London, is doing this show which is the highlight of the week.
