Sensex zooms 123 pts; closes at record high of 11,307
Mumbai, Mar 30 (UNI) Despite crude oil prices above USD 66 per barrel, it was another record-breaking close for Sensex and Nifty today.
The 30-share Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) zoomed by 123.56 points and closed at 11,307 after soaring to a new all-time high of 11,338.66.
For the second day in a row, Sensex closed above Dow Jones Industrial Average close of 11,215.70.
The Indian markets were also backed by positive close of the leading world markets, the Nasdaq closed 1.45 per cent up, NYSE closed 0.90 per cent up, Dow Jones closed 0.55 per cent up and Japanese Nikkei closed 0.63 per cent up.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) S&P CNX Nifty also closed above 3,400 mark at 3,418 , a new all-time high for the 50-share key index.
Earlier, the Nifty opened flat but shot up to the new peak of 3,433.85 points towards the close.
