Kidnapped son of Ludhiana businessman rescued
New Delhi, Mar 30 (UNI) The son of a Ludhiana-based businessman has been rescued and the six kidnappers arrested from Azad Market in West Delhi, police said.
Eleven-year-old Himanshu Ahuja, son of businessman Vipin Ahuja, had gone missing two days ago from the Patel Nagar area where he was visiting his relatives during school holidays.
The police registered a case of kidnapping after Mr Ahuja received a ransom call in Ludhiana. When he reached Delhi yesterday to hand over the ransom amount at the appointed place, the kidnappers kept changing their meeting point.
They eventually cancelled the meeting, but police noticed in the meantime that he was being followed by two motorcycle riders. They followed them clandestinely and reached their hideout. They arrested the kidnappers and rescued the child.
Those arrested were identified as Mohd Tariq Shahnawaj (21), Mohd Tanvir (21), Wasim (22), Mohd Taqi (45), Rihana (38), Kamal Ahmed (29), all residents of Delhi.
