93.12% of electorate provided identity cards in N 24 parganas

Barasat,Mar 30 (UNI) At least 93.12 per cent of the total electorate in North 24 parganas have been provided voter identity cards so far, district Magistrate North 24 Parganas Manoj Pant said today.

Presentation of photo identity cards have been declared mandatory by the Election Commission to cast votes.

Mr Pant assured that the district would be able to provide photo identity cards to all its electorate in due time.

He told newsmen that more than 3000 ramps would be constructed at the polling stations to facilitate disabled electorate to enter the areas.

More than 35,000 polling personnel, including presiding officers, would be manning 5709 polling stations in the district, he added.
