New Delhi, Mar 29 (UNI) The fight between heavyweights to control wrestling in India intensified today when Punjab Wrestling Association (PWA) stepped up the offensive claiming that the National Championship for seniors and sub-juniors, to be organised in Nidani, Haryana from March 31-April 3, was ''illegal''.

In a statement issued today, PWA president and Olympian Kartar Singh said organising the event was ''gross violation of the Delhi Court orders'' as the oraganiser -- Mr M S Malik and Mr B S Langde did not hold any post in the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI).

As per Delhi High Court order on May 31 last year, the WFI was controlled by an adhoc committee constituted by the IOA.

''But self-styled President M S Malik and B S Langde have issued a circular to organise National Championship for seniors and sub-juniors from March 31 to April 3.'' ''The circular is gross violation of the order of Delhi High Court and amounts to the comtempt of court, Mr Singh said.
