IT officials recover Rs 930 cr in current financial year in Surat

Surat, Mar 29 (UNI) The Income Tax officials here today said that they had collected Rs 930 crore as tax recovery in the current financial year out of a total target of Rs 997 crore.

This amount was upto March 28.

In the last financial year, the IT had collected a total amount of Rs 750 crore from Surat region, they said.

Last month, they had conducted several raids over 150 offices of various defaulters including developers, industrialists and traders in and around the city and recovered Rs 125 crore from them.

The raids were conducted at places like Surat, Navasari, Valsad and Dangs districts, the officials added.
