EC revises date for scrutiny of nomination in Mahe, Palloor

Pondicherry, Mar 29 (UNI) The Election Commission has revised the date for scrutiny of nominations and last date for withdrawal of candidature in Mahe and Palloor constituencies in Mahe region on account of Vishu holidays in the region on April 13 and 14 respectively.

Joint Chief Electoral Officer P T Rudra Goud, in a release here today said as per the revised schedule notification for the two constituencies, going to the poll in the first phase on May 3 would be on April 5. The last date for filing nominations was April 12, scrutiny on April 15 and the last date for withdrawal on April 17.

Polling would be held on May 3, counting on May 11 and the poll process would be completed before May 30, the release added.
