Cong demands V K Malhotra's resignation over office of profit issue
New Delhi, Mar 29 (UNI) The city Congress today demanded the resignation of Delhi BJP MP V K Malhotra alleging that he was holding office of profit at the time of his election to Lok Sabha in 204.
A number of party workers, led by Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee District President Shanti Swaroop, demonstrated outside the BJP leader's residence in Central Delhi demanding his resignation, a statement said.

He enjoyed all perks, office, staff, conveyance and other facilities and also had the power to sanction funds that he used, it was claimed.
Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Jagdish Mukhi denied that Mr Malhotra held an office of profit.
Mr R K Anand, who lost the election to Mr Malhotra, had filed objections in the regard before the Returning Officer but it was turned down and Mr Anand chose not to challenge the same, he said.
Even the Ministries of Sports and Youth Affairs, and Law and Justice were of the opinion that the office of head of All India Council of Sports was not an office of profit.
Mr Mukhi also alleged that as many as 18 Congress MLAs were availing 'offices of profit' and demanded their immediate resignation.
If these MLAs did not resign within 24 hours, BJP legislative party would meet Delhi Assembly Speaker Prem Singh and also President A P J Abdul Kalam to press for their demand.
