Tiruchirapalli, Mar 28: Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), a joint venture between Toyota Motor Corporation and the Kirloskar Group, was in the process of expanding its dealership network to improve market penetration, TKM Director T Ino has said.

Speaking to reporters here last night after inaugurating the 55th dealership, Mr Ino said TKM will be taking the number of dealers to 60 by the middle of the current year. Toyota's dealership network now covers 19 states in the country.

He said Tamil Nadu was an important market for the company which would be establishing its fourth dealership in Madurai before June this year.

Toyota's products have been well received by the customers and were maintaining leadership position in their respective segments.

The company had sold more than 31,900 units of Innova and 8,900 units of Corolla last year with a target to double sales during the current year.

He hoped TKM will capture ten per cent of the Indian market by 2010 and was stuyding the feasibility of entering the small car segment to woo middle class customers.
