Three killed, five injured in Bangladesh Rifles firing

Kuchlibari, Mar 28 (UNI) Three Indian labourers were killed and five seriously injured as Bangladesh Border Rifles (BDR) fired in the border areas today.

Coochbehar Superintendent of Police Jagmohan said here that police and BSF had been deployed in the area.

The Indian labourers were engaged in construction works under the Kuchlibari Gram Panchayat area when the BDR suddenly opened fire.

'' However, the reason of BDR firing is yet to be known,'' Mr Jagmohan said.

Five people were seriously injured and had been admitted in Jalpaiguri hospital.

Tension prevailed in the area after the BDR firing, he said.
