Sensex trades 30 points up at 11,010 points
Mumbai, Mar 28 (UNI) The 30 share Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) was trading at 11,010 points with a gain of 30 points at 1432 hrs.
The benchmark index of BSE opened with a gain of 35 points at 11,114, as compared to the last close of 11,079.
It touched a new high of 11,146 points in the morning trade before losing the gains.
Yesterday, Sensex had closed above the 11,000 mark for the first time.
A mixed trend in the global markets with the US market index NYSE closing lower and Japanese Nikkei closing marginally in the green, the Indian markets were rather subdued today.
Also just Rs 137 crore foreign fund inflow on Friday, made investors cautious.
Most of the sectoral indices were trading in the red at this hour but BSE IT and TECK indices were in the positive zone with more than one per cent gain. Small and Midcap indices of the BSE too were in the red this afternoon.
The top gainers on the Sensex were - Infosys, Maruti, Wipro, HDFC, Gujarat Ambuja Cements, ONGC, Grasim Industries, Tata Steel, Hero Honda and HDFC Bank.
The top losers on the Sensex were -BHEL, Dr Reddy's Lab, Tata Power, ICICI Bank, ITC, Reliance Energy, ACC, Hindalco, Larsen&Toubro, Cipla.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) S&P CNX Nifty was trading at 3,333 with a gain of 12 points, as compared to the last close of 3,321 at 1430 hrs.
