Select metal prices costlier on heavy industrial demand

Mumbai, Mar 28 (UNI) Select metal prices rose on heavy industrial demand along with higher advice from London Metal Exchange (LME), traders at the metal exchange here today said.

In ferrous section: copper heavy and copper utensils hiked by Rs 20 each per quintal, while brass utensils and brass cuttings increased by Rs 100 each per quintal as sellers were hoarding their stocks.

In non-ferrous section: copper wire bars rose by Rs 100 per quintal on lesser stock supply.

Tin slab and nickel cathode went up by Rs three and Rs 14 per kg on buying support.

Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy- Rs 26,500, copper utensils- Rs 24,300, brass utensils- Rs 19,100, brass cuttings- Rs 20,300, and aluminium utensils- Rs 10,000.

Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars- Rs 28,600, aluminium ingots- Rs 12,800, zinc slab- Rs 13,900, lead ingots- Rs 6,300, Tin slab- Rs 423 (per kg) and nickel cathode- Rs 795 (per kg).
