Sandalwood billets worth Rs 12 lakh seized, 5 arrested

Bangalore, Mar 28 (UNI) The city police have nabbed a five-member gang of sandalwood smugglers and seized 600 kg of sandalwood billets, worth Rs 12 lakh, from them.

Informing this to reporters here today, City Police Commissioner Ajay Kumar Singh said with this arrest, 19 cases had been solved.

He said the culprits were nabbed by a special team near K R Puram market area on March 23 when they were trying to illegally transport the billets packed in gunny bags.
