RSP blast furnaces create record hot metal production

Bhubaneswar, Mar 28 (UNI) Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has created a record production of 6673 tonnes hot metals on March 26 in its blast furnaces, the highest since inception.

RSP sources said here today that the best record previously was of 6628 tonnes hot metal in a single day registered on February 24 this year.

RSP had to cut back production of hot metals during the first half of the current fiscal due to complete rebuilding of blast furnace number four, the largest blast furnace.

After its recommissioning in September last year, the steel plant has been operating at more than 100 per cent capacity consistently since October last.
