Ranbaxy Founder Bhai Mohan Singh cremated
New Delhi, Mar 28 (UNI) The mortal remains of Bhai Mohan Singh, the founder of Ranbaxy laboratories, were consigned to flames at the Lodhi cremation ground this morning.
A large number of employees of Ranbaxy Laboratories, Max India and Fortis attended the cremation.
His youngest son Analjit Singh and grandson Shivendra Singh lit the pyre. His other son Manjit Singh also was present while Ranbaxy CEO and managing Director Malvinder Singh, who was on an overseas trip, is rushing back home later today.
Former Ambassador Abid Husain, industrialist Brij Mohan Munjal and Sagar Suri were among those present for the cremation.
Bhai Mohan Singh had died last evening at the age of 89 after a spell of poor health.
The doyen of the Indian pharma industry had purchased Ranbaxy from his cousins Ranjit Singh and Gurbux Singh 50 years ago. Over the years, he, alongwith his late son Parvinder Singh, turned it around into a pharma giant recognised the world over.
