Private corporates ready to enter into nuclear energy

Hyderabad, Mar 28 (UNI) Central Electricity Authority Committee member RK Jain today said Reliance, TATA and National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) have expressed willingness to establish nuclear power projects in the country.

Speaking to reporters here, he said the two private companies had discussed with the government setting up nuclear power projects with 100 per cent private ownership, recently. The government was also interested in inviting private companies into this field.

Stating that the Ministry of Power was contemplating formulating modalities for the proposed private nulcear power projects, he said the government would come out with a specific plan at the earliest.

Only private companies, which were performing well would be invited for the nuclear projects and the government would also have control over the projects in view of security reasons, Mr Jain said.
