President identifies core areas of dev
Patna, Mar 28: President Dr A P J Abdul Kalam today (Mar 28, 2006) identified five core areas for development in order to achieve the goal of uplifting 260 million Indian people living below poverty line.
Addressing a joint session of legislative council and assembly of Bihar here, Dr Kalam said the country would have to boost GDP growth rate from the existing 8 per cent to 10 per cent and maintain it for a decade.
Food security, education, healthcare, information and communication technology and infrastructure development, providing urban facilities in rural areas, would need special attention to improve the lot of the people.
