Multi barrel rocket launcher Pinaka testfired from ITR

Balasore, Mar 28: The indigenously built multi barrel rocket launcher ''Pinaka'' was today (Mar 28, 2006) successfully testfired twice from the Proof and Establishment of the Integrated Test Range(ITR) at Chandipur-on-Sea, about 15 kms from here.

ITR sources said the rocket with a range of 39 kms, was testfired at 1515 hours and again at 1545 hours.

'Pinaka' has the capability to fire 12 rockets in 44 seconds. The rocket has been testfired in the past from the Proof and Establishment of the ITR.
