New Socialist front in Pondy

Pondicherry, Mar 28 (UNI) The Janata Dal (United) and the Dravida Peravai, a registered political party, have formed a socialist alliance to fight the assembly elections in the union territory.

Mr N Nandhiverman, General Secretary of the Dravaida Peravai, in a statement said that JD (U) leader George Fernandes will release the list of the candidates and constituency in New Delhi shortly.

The socialist alliance would begin its electioneering here tomorrow, he said and added that the campaign would be taken up in Karaikal region on March 30.
